Beni-zukushi: our impressions

As mentioned above, Beni-zukushi contains five kinds of sweets.

Here are our impressions of each one.

Ganso Beni-imo Tart

The beni-imo tart is known for its rich beni-imo flavor and mellow texture.

The tart is piled with beni-imo paste — moist, with a beautifully judged sweetness.

It carries the aroma of beni-imo, which gives it a distinctly Okinawan feel.

Imo-Imo Tart

Imo-Imo Tart is known for the combination of purple and orange sweet potato.

It uses beni-imo from Okinawa Prefecture along with the orange akane-imo, so you can taste two kinds of sweet potato at once.

The flavor is very mellow, and the aroma of sweet potato fills your mouth the moment you bite in.
