The beach beside Sango Batake is a small stretch of shore in Yomitan Village, in the central part of Okinawa’s main island.
Sango Batake is right next door, and Nirai Beach is within walking distance.
This beach has no safety net and no lifeguards, so if you want to swim we recommend heading to Nirai Beach.

The water is clear and the beach is lovely, but with no safety net it is not suited to swimming.
Nirai Beach is close by, so head there if swimming is what you are after.

Beautiful sand and emerald-green water

The beach itself is not especially large, but the sand is lovely and the water beautifully clear.
Sango Batake is well worth a visit

Sango Batake is a coral farm — think of it as an open-air aquarium.
It is a fairly niche sort of aquarium, but the coral on display is genuinely beautiful. Please check the link below for admission and other details.

Miigusuku

Miigusuku is said to have been built as a fort to defend against the wako, the pirates active along the Korean Peninsula and the Chinese coast between the 13th and 16th centuries.

The view from Miigusuku is lovely.

There is a gate at the entrance to Sango Batake, and about 30 metres down the slope from there is space for two or three cars.
