Open the box and the four kinds of sweets are neatly arranged inside.

It contains the following four kinds of sweets.

  • ICHICORO Puff Sand… 4 pieces
  • Beni-imo Chinsuko… 10 pieces
  • Beni-imo Tart… 3 pieces
  • Polka Dot (beni-imo)… 8 pieces

Each sweet has its own character, and all of them were sweet and good.

Being able to try this many kinds of sweets from a single box is another advantage of Beni-imo Matsuri.

Beni-imo Matsuri: our impressions

As mentioned above, Beni-imo Matsuri contains four kinds of sweets.

Here are our impressions of each one.

ICHICORO Puff Sand

The outside of the ICHICORO Puff Sand is like a beni-imo cookie, with white chocolate inside.

It has both a light crispness and a firmer crunch, with a nicely judged sweetness.

Break the ICHICORO Puff Sand in two and it looks roughly like the image above.

It is packed with white chocolate too.

Beni-imo Chinsuko

The Beni-imo Chinsuko here was round rather than the usual long, thin shape.

The aroma of beni-imo spreads the moment you bite in, and the sweetness is nicely judged.

Like a standard chinsuko, it draws almost all the moisture out of your mouth.

Breaking one in two, there was a small hollow inside.

Beni-imo Tart

The Beni-imo Tart is known for its rich beni-imo flavor and moist texture.

The tart is piled with sweet potato paste, and the sweetness is beautifully judged.

Cut the tart in half and it looks like the image above.

It is piled with beni-imo paste, and just looking at it makes you hungry.

This is just my impression, but it felt slightly creamier than Okashigoten’s beni-imo tart.

Polka Dot

Polka Dot is a moist sweet, and personally it was my favorite of everything in Beni-imo Matsuri.

I love the beni-imo aroma that spreads when you open the bag, and the beni-imo sweetness that fills your mouth as you bite in.

It is a sweet treat, so unless you watch how much you eat, you could easily keep going.

Break the Polka Dot in half and it looks like the image above.

It is packed with beni-imo paste and it was very good.
