Anchi Beach has lifeguards and a safety net, so adults and children alike can get in the water with confidence.
Marine activities are plentiful too, with snorkeling and much else to try.

Anchi Beach lies directly beneath the Sesoko Bridge.
Blue water with a large bridge above it makes for a genuinely striking scene.
Clear Water
The clarity of the water is genuinely appealing.

White Sand
The white sand at Anchi Beach runs for roughly 150 meters.
There are plenty of shells and pieces of coral on the sand, so sandals or shoes are worth wearing rather than going barefoot.

At Anchi Beach you can snorkel, kayak, and paddle a SUP board.

Showers are in place as well, though they are paid (300 yen for adults).
A Cafe and Places to Eat
Okinawa Marine Studio runs a cafe-style shop and handles activity rentals.
It was closed when we took the photo, at the start of January, but it is normally open.

Activities at Anchi Beach
At Anchi Beach you will see people paddling SUP boards as well as snorkeling.
It is a lovely snorkeling spot where beautiful coral and clownfish can be seen in the shallows.
Hilton Okinawa Sesoko Resort
Hilton’s first beach resort hotel in Japan, opened on July 1, 2020.
It is a genuinely beautiful resort, and many of the rooms take in the sea and the night sky over Sesoko Island.
Sesoko Beach is right nearby, and both the Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium and the Nakijin Castle Ruins are about 15 minutes away by car, which makes it a strong choice if you want to explore the north of Okinawa.
A rental car is the way to see Okinawa
For getting around Okinawa’s main island, a rental car is by far the best option.
Shuri Castle in Naha, the beautiful beaches of the north, American Village in Chatan — the sights are scattered across the island, and with a car you can take them in at your own pace. Local buses are infrequent and rarely run to time, so having a car makes a real difference to the trip.
Cars fill up quickly in the peak season, so we recommend booking early once your travel dates are set. One important note for overseas visitors: to drive in Japan you must obtain an International Driving Permit (Geneva Convention) in your home country before you depart, and remember that traffic in Japan drives on the left.
