Zane Beach has no swimming facilities, but Cape Maeda nearby has snorkel gear rental, lockers, changing rooms, and restrooms.
Cape Maeda is a 5 to 10 minute walk from Zane Beach, so leaving your bags there before you come over is the sensible approach.

The path splits in two, one way to the clifftop view and one way to Zane Beach,
Go left and, past a stretch where the pandanus trees you see all over Okinawa grow thick, the view from the clifftop opens up.
Go right and you come out at Zane Beach.
Beautiful sand and blue water
It hardly needs saying, but this is a beautiful beach.
Some were swimming in the shallows, some snorkeling, some just sitting on the sand.
At low tide you can walk from here to Uramaeda Beach.
Low tide brings a fine view of its own.
The rock window
A few visitors were stepping into the rock window to take photographs.
It sits in what feels like a cave, and it is a striking thing to see.

Rental cars in Okinawa
A rental car is by far the best way to get around the main island of Okinawa.
The places worth seeing are scattered across the island, from Shuri Castle in Naha to the beautiful beaches of the north and American Village in Chatan, and with a car you can take them at your own pace. Buses are infrequent and do not always run on time, so having a car or not makes a real difference to the trip.
Cars fill up quickly in the peak season, so we recommend booking early once your travel dates are set. One important note for overseas visitors: to drive in Japan you must obtain an International Driving Permit (Geneva Convention) in your home country before you depart, and remember that traffic in Japan drives on the left.
